Hearing Loop System

Hearing loops are a type of assistive listening device used by people with hearing aids / cochlear implants. They work by cutting out unwanted background noise as sound goes directly into the telecoil receiver in a person’s hearing aid. Hearing loops work with the help of a microphone, an amplifier and a loop cable, which acts as an antenna to direct sound toward a hearing aid.

At YVR, guests can find hearing loop systems across the airport at all information counters and select check-in counters marked with the universal hearing loop sign.
