Mary B. Jordan YVR Scholarship for Women in Business

In recognition of former Chair of the YVR Board of Directors Mary B. Jordan’s impressive 15-year tenure as a board member, and her significant contributions to the airport community, YVR established the Mary B. Jordan YVR Scholarship to support women pursuing a Master's degree in a business-related field in British Columbia.

We share Mary’s belief that greater diversity in the workplace drives innovation and providing people with proper resources allows them to reach their full potential. Meet 2022 Mary B. Jordan Scholarship Award Winner, Mahta Amanian

2022 Mary B. Jordan Scholarship winner, Mahta Amanian"Receiving the Mary B. Jordan YVR Scholarship for Women in Business was a transformative experience that empowered me to pursue my next academic journey of studying the Master of Management (MM) at the University of British Columbia (UBC) Sauder School of Business. During my studies, I was able to continue volunteering with several organizations, including the hospital, teaching science lessons to elementary school students, and consulting for a community business project. My volunteering experiences and academic journey in the MM program have further taught me the vitality of celebrating diversity and inclusion, fundamental principles that I will aim to exemplify in myself and others.

Being awarded this scholarship has been an immense honour and privilege, and I am deeply grateful for the invaluable opportunities it has provided me."
