Latest travel measures from Government of Canada

On June 14, 2022, the Government of Canada announced the suspension of its vaccine mandates for domestic travellers, transportation workers and federal employees.

On June 10, 2022, the Government of Canada announced that mandatory randomized testing for passengers arriving from an international destination, including the U.S, will be temporarily suspended at all airports between Saturday, June 11 and Thursday, June 30, 2022, and that all future testing will be conducted offsite starting July 1.

Travellers are reminded to take note of the following travel measures currently in place:

  • As of 00:01 EDT on June 20, 2022, the vaccination requirement to board a plane in Canada will be suspended.
  • Those travelling internationally should be aware of the vaccination requirements of their destination before travel to determine whether they need to show proof of vaccination upon arrival.
  • Vaccination requirements for passengers and crew of cruise ships will continue to remain in effect. More information here.
  • Most foreign nationals entering Canada are required to show proof of vaccination upon entry to Canada. More information here.
  • Those travelling to the U.S. by air are no longer required to present a negative COVID-19 test result.
  • All travellers arriving from the U.S. or another international destination continue to be required to complete information in ArriveCAN within 72 hours before their arrival in Canada. Travellers who arrive without completing their ArriveCAN submission may have to test on arrival and quarantine for 14 days, regardless of their vaccination status.
  • Masks continue to be required in the terminal and on-board aircraft.
