Customs and Immigration

YVR is the first stop for many travellers coming into Canada, as well as connecting passengers travelling to the United States. The two agencies responsible for maintaining border services are the Canada Border Services Agency and U.S. Customs & Border Protection.

Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA)

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is responsible for providing integrated border services and making sure that everyone entering Canada meets entry requirements

US Customs & Border Protection (USCBP)

Through U.S. preclearance, the same immigration, customs, and agriculture inspections of international air passengers performed on arrival in the United States is completed before departure at YVR instead.  More about USCBP processes and programs, as well as entry requirements.
