Upcoming Closure to Level 1 Road Access to Domestic Terminal

Notification #1 (December 10, 2020)

In order to meet future demand, we are undergoing multi-year expansion projects that will ensure we continue to deliver an exceptional airport experience.

One of the largest projects underway is the new Parkade and Central Utilities Building.  As part of this project, YVR needs to install district energy piping which necessities a full curbside closure of level 1 for approximately a six-month period scheduled to start on January 14, 2020. This utilities work will connect the new geoexchange system to the terminal. Once complete, this is going to be one of the largest geoexchange systems in Canada and will help YVR meet growing passenger demands while reducing its environmental footprint by supporting YVR’s heating and cooling needs across the entire terminal complex.

YVR is making every effort to reduce the impact of construction on tenants and passengers. Pedestrians will still be able to access the Parkade from the Domestic Terminal Building level 1 through designated walking routes. Routing will be changed based on construction progress. Please follow all signage and traffic delineators in the area.

More detailed information will be shared in January in advance of the closure.

Update #2 (January 6, 2020)

As part of the Level 1 closure, all courtesy shuttles are scheduled to be picking up and dropping off on Departures, Level 3 as of 0200 on January 9th, 2020. The International shuttle zone will be adjacent to the US transborder check in on Departures, Level 3 and the Domestic shuttle zone will be adjacent to the Domestic/Canada check in on Departures, Level 3. Please follow directional signage inside the terminal.

The N10 TransLink bus stop will be relocated on January 7th at 0001 to Domestic/Canada check in on Departures, Level 3. All pre-arranged commercial vehicle pick-ups will now take place at the International Arrival Level 2 starting on January 14th.

The full curbside closure of level 1 is still scheduled to start on January 14, 2020. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
