Templeton Area Redevelopment

2020 Site Work Overview

We are continuing site preparation work and construction of the Templeton Corridor.

This next phase of work will commence the week of March 16, 2020 and we expect it to be completed by the end of January 2021.

We received valuable input throughout the community engagement process for the Templeton Redevelopment project, which helped shape the design for the Templeton Corridor and other project requirements.

The enhanced Templeton Corridor will include the addition of hundreds of new plantings and greenspace with a variety of new areas to enjoy—from naturalized meadows to flexible and active open space, seating areas, trails and multi-use pathways connecting to the greater Sea Island network. Lighting will be added to the multi-use paths and we will replace the fence between YVR property and Burkeville. The field next to Little Wings Daycare will be leveled and landscaped with improved drainage. We will also narrow Templeton Street and construct Terrace Street extension. The contractor will also install various utilities for the future development.

Alternate Routing

To ensure a safe work environment is maintained, the project site will be fenced off with no public access to the area. Public vehicles are not permitted south of Sea Island Elementary School. During this phase of work, pedestrians and cyclists will be detoured around the project site.

  • Access to Templeton Street, south of Sea Island School, will be closed to all pedestrians and cyclists.
  • The south access point at Wellington Crescent will be closed.
  • Access from Aylmer Road through to Templeton Street will also be closed.
