Providing accessible travel for all is a top priority at YVR. Just one example of our commitment to being a leader as an accessible airport is through partnerships with Pacific Autism Family Network and Canucks Autism Network, where we have created resources and training to build confidence and break down barriers for individuals and families traveling through YVR.
I CAN Fly Resource Kit and Video Series
YVR has partnered with Canucks Autism Network (CAN) to develop a resource kit and video series to assist autistic individuals and their families. These resources help travellers prepare for their upcoming trip, covering the check-in process, security screening, boarding and flying. Travel resource kits are available at all pre-security YVR Customer Care counters and can be downloaded below.

Interactive Travel Training Series
YVR has partnered with Pacific Autism Family Network and AIDE Canada to create an interactive video series aimed to enable neurodiverse individuals the opportunity to familiarize themselves with various travel processes. The three-part series include checking-in, going through security, boarding an airplane and going through Canada Customs upon returning from an international trip. This interactive tool allows users to practice air travel skills by helping an autistic traveller navigate the airport, interact with airport personnel and observe the results of their choices—empowering users to approach real travel situations with confidence. To learn more and prepare for your travel experience, visit AIDE Canada's Resource Library.
Please note, you will be required to create a free account to access the training series.
