Local favourite, The Dirty Apron, opens in YVR’s domestic terminal for both diners and travellers looking for signature and gourmet eats on the go.
YVR is on a journey to transform its food and beverage program to provide more fresh, local and authentic offerings reflective of the vibrant and diverse culinary choices in our community. An important step forward in that journey is welcoming The Dirty Apron, an award-winning cooking school and caterer. Led by creative and accomplished Chef David Robertson, The Dirty Apron’s specialty is turning fresh and local ingredients into an improved and inspired culinary experience for our travellers and employees.
“YVR is elevating its offerings to become the destination of food and shopping for travellers,” said Robyn McVicker, Vice President, Passenger Journey at Vancouver Airport Authority / L'Administration de l’aéroport de Vancouver. “The Dirty Apron is a natural fit and the perfect addition to YVR’s food and beverage offerings. Travellers looking for a delicious yet quick bite on the go can experience The Dirty Apron’s signature gourmet sandwiches, salads and countless artisan snacks and treats – all meticulously created with the freshest local ingredients the region has to offer. Chef David Robertson and The Dirty Apron are synonymous with teaching Vancouverites how to appreciate and cook great food and we are thrilled to now showcase them at YVR”
The restaurant is operated by SSP Canada, a division of SSP Group, a leading operator of food and beverage concessions in travel locations worldwide.
With The Dirty Apron’s official opening in the Domestic C Pier July 26, travellers will be able to visit the new offering during its daily operating hours between 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
“For the last 13 years, we have worked really hard to make The Dirty Apron a local household name where customers know that they will enjoy delicious and local food,” said David Robertson, Chef and Owner of The Dirty Apron. “When we were approached with the opportunity to open our delicatessen at YVR, we realized quickly how amazing of a fit our fare would be for travellers. Whether it’s our sandwiches, salads, wraps or pastries – we believe The Dirty Apron is bringing a fresh, exciting and tasty culinary experience to YVR, and we are excited to share our passion for great food with everyone here.”
Scott Welding, Senior Vice President of Business Development of SSP Canada commented, “The Dirty Apron is one of Canada’s most exciting culinary playgrounds, and the SSP Canada team is thrilled to partner with David and Sara Robertson on this Airport outpost. SSP Canada is passionate about bringing a taste of place to the airport, and The Dirty Apron unit has already been met with rave reviews. We look forward to offering passengers a culinary experience they’ll remember long after departure.”
