As British Columbians and visitors prepare for travel over the Labour Day long weekend, Vancouver International Airport / Aéroport international de Vancouver (YVR) is reminding travellers to be prepared for their journey through the airport.
The airport continues to recommend that passengers arrive early—up to two hours ahead of scheduled domestic flights and three hours ahead for U.S. and international flights.
Passengers are encouraged to check latest airport information on YVR.ca and on the airport’s Twitter feed: @YVRairport and @YVRaeroport, and latest flight information with their airline before travelling to the airport.
YVR continues to work closely with the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) and its many partners to deliver a safe and seamless experience for passengers. YVR thanks staff across the airport community for their continued support with getting passengers through YVR safely and as efficiently as possible.

-
Please arrive at the airport early—two hours ahead of scheduled domestic flights and three hours ahead for U.S. and international flights. Masks remain mandatory in the terminal and onboard your flight.
-
All travellers arriving to Canada from abroad are required to complete ArriveCAN. At YVR, travellers can save time with Customs and Immigration by using the Advance Declaration option in ArriveCAN to electronically submit their declaration information before arriving in Vancouver, reducing processing time spent in the Customs Hall.
-
The Government of Canada has resumed mandatory random testing for travellers who qualify as fully vaccinated and are arriving in Canada from an international destination, including the U.S. Travellers who have been selected for testing will receive an email with information to arrange their test as physical testing is no longer conducted at the airport.
-
Coming soon! Travellers heading to the U.S. will have the option to submit their passport and customs declaration information through the secure Mobile Passport Control app in advance of their trip, reducing passport control inspection time and overall wait time.
