YVR Supports New Government Vaccine Requirements

Vancouver International Airport / Aéroport international de Vancouver (YVR) supports the Government of Canada’s announcement today that outlines mandatory vaccination requirements for federally regulated employees in the air travel sector as well as certain travellers.

“We support today’s announcement and look forward to working with government, health officials and all of our partners to implement the new vaccine requirements,” said Tamara Vrooman, President & CEO, Vancouver Airport Authority. “As we continue to welcome back passengers and help lead the recovery of Canada’s economy, getting vaccinated is one of the most effective ways we can advance the reopening of travel and tourism while ensuring the safety of our employees, passengers and community.”

YVR is committed to health and safety and has worked diligently to help people move through the airport safely and with confidence. YVR recently received a COVID-19 Airport Award of Excellence from Skytrax for providing the highest health, hygiene and safety protocols during the pandemic.

The airport will share more information about vaccine requirements for air travel as it works with government and partners. To ensure you’re prepared for your next trip, visit www.yvr.ca/ready.
