Yesterday the Government of Canada’s Testing and Screening Expert Advisory Panel released its Border Measures Report, outlining priority strategies to optimize testing and quarantine at Canada’s borders.
“YVR is pleased with the recommendations outlined by the government’s Expert Advisory Panel. We look forward to government applying this information, in tandem with learnings from other international models, to create an actionable restart plan for Canada and those who wish to travel here,” said Tamara Vrooman, President & CEO, Vancouver Airport Authority / L'Administration de l’aéroport de Vancouver. “And as we prepare to welcome passengers back to the airport, we are committed to working with our partners to deliver a YVR experience that reflects this new era of travel. That includes doing our part to communicate with British Columbians about what they can expect so they can travel with confidence once conditions indicate that it’s safe to do so.”
YVR applauds the government’s approach to forming an independent expert panel to form sound recommendations for the easement of border measures using science-based data.
As B.C. advances its Restart Plan, YVR will continue to look for a coordinated federal plan that links to B.C.’s phased approach and supports Canada’s recovery of travel and tourism.
