Air Canada Announces Service to Boston

Flight marks the only connection between Vancouver and Boston

Today, Air Canada announced the introduction of a daily non-stop service between Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). This new transborder seasonal route will operate from June 23 until September 4, 2017. The flight is timed strategically to connect with Air Canada’s Asian and South Pacific flights out of YVR.

“It’s fantastic that Air Canada is opening up the Boston market for British Columbia. This was one of our most underserved cities and we are thrilled to be able to offer access to it this summer,” said Craig Richmond, President and CEO, Vancouver Airport Authority. “Air Canada is a great partner and has placed a lot of emphasis on expanding U.S. routes from YVR. This marks the sixth new transborder route announced by Air Canada in the last year, providing even more non-stop travel options and convenient connections for our passengers.”

Boston is Massachusetts’ capital and largest city. Founded in 1630, it is also one of the oldest cities in the U.S. The new destination will offer British Columbians access to this popular east coast location for both holidays and business opportunities. Bostonians also make up a large cruise demographic and will benefit from the easy access to Vancouver’s port with YVR’s Cruise Program.

“We are excited to link Vancouver and Boston with daily non-stop flights this summer reducing two hours of travel time for customers travelling between the Canadian West Coast and the Greater Boston area. This new service will also offer customers from U.S. northeastern seaboard convenient connections at our YVR hub to Western Canada to our daily flights to both Sydney and Brisbane, Australia,” said Benjamin Smith, President, Passenger Airlines, at Air Canada.

In addition to the new Boston service, Air Canada introduced service to Dallas in February, Denver on May 18, 2017 and they are also increasing service to Los Angeles and San Jose to six and three times daily respectively, both on May 1, 2017. In addition, Air Canada has announced the following international routes out of YVR to launch later this year: Taipei, Nagoya, Frankfurt and London Gatwick.

The YVR-BOS route will be operated on an Air Canada Airbus A319 aircraft with seat capacity for 120 passengers. For further details and to book, please visit www.aircanada.com.
