Sichuan Airlines adds Zhengzhou as a new destination

Vancouver International Airport / Aéroport international de Vancouver (YVR) welcomes the service change announced by Sichuan Airlines for flights out of YVR. Sichuan Airlines currently serves YVR three times weekly, operating between Chengdu and Vancouver, via Shenyang. Beginning November 1, 2016, Sichuan Airlines will open up a new non-stop destination from YVR – Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport (CGO).

The new service to Chengdu via Zhengzhou replaces the airline’s existing flight to Chengdu via Shenyang on Tuesdays and Fridays. The Sunday flights remain unchanged and will continue to fly through Shenyang. All Sichuan Airlines services out of YVR operate on Airbus A330 aircraft.

“Sichuan Airlines has been a valuable partner since 2012 when it launched its first service between YVR and Mainland China – the airline’s first long-haul destination,” said Craig Richmond, President and CEO, Vancouver Airport Authority. “We commend the airline for its vision in opening up new non-stop service between Vancouver and Zhengzhou and introducing another new destination from YVR.”
