Travellers headed across the pond from YVR now have more options than ever, as Air Canada has expanded their service from Vancouver to London by adding a second seasonal daily flight to Heathrow Airport.
"We are so happy our partners at Air Canada have decided to add a second daily flight to London from YVR for the summer and early fall, and the fact they are using a Dreamliner on the route is double exciting," said Anne Murray, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Vancouver Airport Authority / L'Administration de l’aéroport de Vancouver. "What this new service means for YVR and the community is more job opportunities, more money injected in to the local economy, and of course more options for passengers looking to visit this world class destination."
The second daily flight is expected to create 124 jobs, $4.6 million in wages and contribute $7.5 million in Gross Domestic Product over the course of its seasonal run.
Air Canada will fly a next-generation Boeing 787-9 on the route to begin with and switch to a 787-8 later on. Both aircraft have the latest in onboard amenities and offer superior passenger experience for long-haul flights. Travellers looking to book a fare can visit the Air Canada website.
