WestJet Connects Vancouver to Orlando for the First Time

Weekly flight for sun-seekers, Disney devotees and Caribbean cruisers starts January 1, 2016

WestJet today announced its winter schedule, which includes the launch of direct, weekly service between Vancouver International Airport / Aéroport international de Vancouver (YVR) and Orlando International Airport (MCO). Beginning January 1, 2016, this flight will be Vancouver’s only service to Florida and its first-ever service to Orlando.

“It is really exciting to see WestJet enhance its seasonal offering in the Vancouver market,” said Craig Richmond, President & CEO, Vancouver Airport Authority. “Families heading to Disney World,vacationers taking cruises out of Port Canaveral and Canadians simply looking for some sun will all appreciate WestJet’s great new service to Orlando.”

This weekly service will use Boeing 737-800 aircraft with a capacity of 174 seats to convey passengers between Vancouver and Orlando.  Travellers will also benefit from onward connections to other Florida hot spots, including Miami. One of YVR’s most established airline partners, WestJet currently operates some 423 weekly flights in and out of YVR.
