On March 31 at 21:01 (PDT) travel into Canada will become less restricted for those who are fully vaccinated.
At YVR, we welcome the move by the Government of Canada. This will allow individuals, families and businesses to plan their summer and fall travel with more confidence and convenience. We look forward to travellers taking advantage of YVR’s ever-expanding and new flight offerings to destinations around the world.
Here’s what you need to know about the arrivals process for fully vaccinated travellers at YVR after March 31 at 21:01:
- No negative COVID-19 test to board a plane bound for Canada
- Before landing in Canada, fill out the ArriveCAN app
- Upon arrival, fully vaccinated travellers may be selected for mandatory random COVID-19 testing
- If selected, fully vaccinated travellers do not need to quarantine as they await the test result
Pre-entry testing requirements were implemented by the Government of Canada earlier in the pandemic as part of a series of border and travel measures. Other policies such as the mandatory wearing of masks in airports and on aircraft, random arrivals testing, and proof of vaccination requirements for air travel, remain in effect.
There are no changes to the arrivals process for unvaccinated travellers.
