You best believe it! As travel measures ease and more people consider their next trip from YVR, Air Canada announced an impressive roster of new flights and the return of familiar favourites across North America and Europe.

Flights include new nonstop service to Austin and Halifax. Air Canada is also restoring service to Anchorage, Boston, Quebec City, Sacramento and Yellowknife, as well as Dublin, Frankfurt and Zurich. We’re thrilled to see these 10 destinations added to our network here at YVR, offering our community even more options for travel over the summer.

If you’re in the mood for barbeque, live music and southern charm, a route we’re especially excited for is Austin, Texas. This marks the first time in our history that an airline has served Austin with direct service. Launching this new service to Austin provides effortless access to the southern U.S. and drives important economic benefits for the BC region by way of connecting two of North America’s most vibrant tech hubs. Like Vancouver, Austin is a tech destination, earning itself the name “Silicon Hills” with the likes of Facebook, Google, Dell, and Tesla all having anchored their headquarters within its city limits. Straight service from Vancouver to ‘Bat City’ (Austin) will commence in June 2022 - operating four times weekly, year-round.

Now that we’ve got you dreaming of travel, tell us which of the two new North American destinations (Austin or Halifax) you want to fly to next for the chance to win a free flight for two. Head over to our Facebook, Instagram or Twitter pages to learn more and enter.

While this progress is exciting, a friendly reminder that travel measures are still in effect. Make sure you know all the requirements when travelling both domestically, United States and internationally. Canadians headed abroad may be required to present proof of a negative Covid-19 test administered during the three days before their travel. To return, travellers are required to complete the ArriveCAN app and may be selected for an arrivals test.

Visit YVR’s Ready, Set, Fly hub for the latest information on travel measures and trip planning. Please check with Air Canada to make sure you meet all entry requirements of your destination.
