Our APM and a look back at 2020

We held our 2021 Annual Public Meeting (APM) on May 13. At the meeting, held virtually to accommodate health and safety protocols, we presented the Airport Authority’s 2020 Annual & Sustainability Report and financial statements.

We also provided a look back on 2020 and shared a view to the future, highlighting our role as Gateway to the New Economy and how we will continue to take care of our people, passengers, business, community and planet as we deliver on our purpose: to serve our community and the economy that supports it.

Here is a quick look back at the year that was:

Each year, the APM also allows us an important opportunity to connect and engage with our community. We encourage people to send questions in advance and also pose questions live during the session. This year, just one question was remaining at the end of the session, which we’ve answered below.

A recording of the meeting, with more questions addressed at the end, is available at www.YVR.ca/APM.

Question from a viewer: Do you plan on building any park or plane spotting area at the end of the north runway, similar to Flightpath Park on the south runway?

Larry Berg Flight Path Park is directly in line with the end of the south runway—making it a prime location for plane spotting, picnics and playing in the park. We don’t have any plans at this time to create a similar space at the end of the north runway. Thanks for the question!
