On behalf of the Board of Directors of Vancouver Airport Authority (YVR), Chair Annalisa King is pleased to announce the election of Heather Deal to the Board of Directors. Heather was nominated by Metro Vancouver.
Heather Deal brings decades of experience as a scientist, environmental educator, researcher, elected official and literacy promoter to the YVR Board. She was elected in the City of Vancouver five times, first to the Vancouver Park Board and then four times to Vancouver City Council. As a Councillor, she chaired the City Finance and Services and Planning, Transportation and Environment Committees. Heather served many years as a board member of Metro Vancouver and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, as well as being a member of and chairing multiple committees of those Boards. She also serves on the Architectural Institute of BC Council and is the Chair of the Granville Island Council. And Heather is a singer in, and past president of, the Vancouver Bach Choir.
