The 16th annual YVR Fly Quiet Award winners were announced at the Chief Pilot’s meeting on May 6, 2021. These awards are designed to raise awareness of noise issues within the aviation community and encourage good noise management practices at the airport. Winners are selected based on having the lowest average measured noise levels and being on good standing with the YVR Noise Abatement Procedures.
The skies around Metro Vancouver has become much quieter due to the impacts of global pandemic on air travel. However, we continue our efforts in managing noise from airport and aircraft operations, and we are pleased to recognize our exceptional airline partners who demonstrated good noise management practices throughout the year to minimize impacts on communities.
