We all have a role to play in supporting our communities during these challenging times and if you’ve ever parked at jetSet YVR Parking, you’ll know that it’s a perfect location for a drive-through testing facility. We’re pleased to have worked with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) to turn the jetSet parking lot, which was closed at the onset of the pandemic, into a public testing collection centre. This drive-through facility is available to Richmond residents as well as British Columbians exhibiting symptoms related to COVID-19.
The new outdoor testing collection centre is located at 5911 North Service Road (at the intersection of Aviation Avenue and North Service Road). The centre is open daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. This is a drive-through facility only and no referral or appointment is needed to receive testing. For more information on this location, visit vch.ca.
Within the airport context, there are lots of evolving conversations related to testing. We continue to work closely with WestJet on our rapid testing pilot study and expect to share more information soon. In addition, private testing for travel and work purposes continues and we encourage passengers to do their research and know of any testing related travel requirements before getting to the airport. It’s important to note that with the various testing activities at or near the airport, VCH’s testing collection centre is unrelated to YVR and WestJet’s pilot. It also is not for private testing for travel or work purposes.
