Vancouver International Airport Authority's Board of Directors announces the appointment Peter W. Webster to the Board as an appointee of the Government of Canada.

"We are delighted to welcome Mr. Webster to our community-based Board of Directors," said Board Chair Graham Clarke. "His accomplishments in business and contributions to community organizations will be great assets to the Airport Authority, and will help ensure that YVR continues to be a source of pride for all British Columbians."

Mr. Webster is a business executive with more than 30 years' experience serving Boards in a variety of businesses in Canada and the United States. He has also distinguished himself with a lifetime commitment to community service. Among his many community service activities, Mr. Webster is a trustee of the R. Howard Webster Foundation, the Chair of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada Foundation, and a trustee on the Vancouver Police Foundation.

The predecessor to Mr. Webster is David McPhee, who served as a Director for 12 years. "Mr. McPhee brought keen insight and wisdom to our Board, and his guidance contributed to YVR's success as a premier global gateway and strong community partner," said Mr. Clarke. "On behalf of the Board and the community, we thank him for his many contributions over the years."

The Airport Authority is governed by a Board of Directors, members of which are appointed by nominating entities, namely, the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia; the City of Richmond, the City of Vancouver; Government of Canada; Greater Vancouver Regional District; Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia; The Law Society of British Columbia; and The Vancouver Board of Trade. The Board includes the Airport Authority President and CEO, and additional members are appointed by the Board from the community at large.
