Larry Berg Flight Path Park

Larry Berg Flight Path Park is located at the corner of Russ Baker Way and Airport Road, directly in line with the end of the south runway, making it a prime location to plane spot.

The focal point of the park is a raised central plaza featuring a giant globe that celebrates YVR's role in connecting British Columbia with the world. Tail wings tell the story of YVR and why it is one of the best airports in the world.

Small hills and berms allow for good views and a viewing platform provides a spot to see the runway above the perimeter fence. Information boards describe some of the identifying features to look for so that even novice plane spotters can identify the aircraft overhead.

The park includes walking trails and runway paths that reflect the markings and lights of real runways.

Memorial benches made from recycled material are incorporated into the park's design.

The picnic tables have also been updated and new paper airplane benches add to the theme of the park.

It's the perfect place for a family picnic on a sunny day, or to park and watch the planes soar overhead as they depart and arrive from their destinations all over the planet. We are very excited to have revitalized this wonderful family space and to have created a place that is a legacy to Larry Berg, former President & CEO of Vancouver Airport Authority (1998 - 2013).

We hope you enjoy the improved Larry Berg Flight Path Park!
