Noise Management Plan Update Process

We are updating our Noise Management Plan and invite you to participate!

The Vancouver Airport Authority is currently updating its comprehensive Noise Management Plan, which sets the framework for the YVR Noise Management Program and includes specific initiatives to improve the noise environment around the airport. Creating the 2014-2019 Noise Management Plan will be a year-long endeavor, with the intent of delivering the final draft to Transport Canada for their review and approval in December 2013.

The process to develop the Plan is systematic and has four main steps, as outlined in the figure below.

While the Airport Authority will work closely with members of the YVR Aeronautical Noise Management Committee to create the Plan, we value additional input from the greater community. As part of the Issues Identification stage, the Airport Authority will conduct a community on-line survey to hear from residents about issues of concern and what they would like to see done.

If you would like to participate in the survey and be notified when the survey is available, or provide any suggestions in advance, feel free to contact us at noise@yvr.ca.
