YVR Aviation Great Honoured By His Peers

From the corners of YVR’s terminal buildings to airports across the province and country, Gerry Bruno is known as one of aviation’s most ardent supporters. Yesterday, the longtime YVR champion was honored by his peers for his outstanding contribution to British Columbia’s aviation industry.

Gerry, Vice President of Government Affairs for Vancouver Airport Authority, was awarded the prestigious Robert S. Day Award by the BC Aviation Council as part of its annual Silver Wings Awards gala event in Vancouver.

An instrumental member of the YVR and B.C. aviation communities for more than four decades, Gerry is responsible for bringing to life many of the innovative security and passenger initiatives that have made YVR what it is today – a truly international gateway and North America’s Best Airport.

Check out this video tribute that features highlights – and some great photo gems – from Gerry’s 41-year career.
