Jake here, reporting on an amazing fourth year at the YVR School Tour program. The tour guides, Breanna and Annalisa and I, have had the pleasure of giving tours of Vancouver International Airport to over 2000 grade five students from the Metro Vancouver area.
Hello YVR Connections readers! My name is Breanna and I am one of three tour guides who are part of the YVR school tour program The Future Lands Here. Jake, Annalisa and I give tours of the airport to local grade five students.
As the YVR School Program comes to an end this week, I want to say a huge thanks to all 43 participating schools and the 1700+ students who came and visited us here at the Vancouver International Airport.
Hey, everyone! Wyanne here. We’ve had an exciting month with YVR School Program. We’ve mastered our script and have really come into our own. The kids have been great and every tour is filled with new surprises.
YVR’s School Tour program is now in full swing. Each week, approximately 270 Grade 5 students from across Metro Vancouver come for a tour of the public areas of the airport. Guided by Annalisa, Marcus and Wyanne the students experience the excitement of YVR, what they need to do when taking a flight, security requirements, airport sustainability practices and the NATO phonetic alphabet!
The YVR school program, which takes grade 5 classes on a fact-filled field trip around the airport, started this week.
It's back to school for the kids and for some lucky students, a tour at YVR! YVR's School Tour Program - The Future Lands Here - returns on September 27 for a third year of fun and exploration.
