As the YVR School Program comes to an end this week, I want to say a huge thanks to all 43 participating schools and the 1700+ students who came and visited us here at the Vancouver International Airport.
The YVR school program, which takes grade 5 classes on a fact-filled field trip around the airport, started this week.
It's back to school for the kids and for some lucky students, a tour at YVR! YVR's School Tour Program - The Future Lands Here - returns on September 27 for a third year of fun and exploration.
It’s the day we’ve all been waiting for, tomorrow is moving day for Jaeger Mah! Jaeger, who won a contest to become YVR’s live-in storyteller for 80 days, will land at YVR at 10 a.m. and officially begin his assignment.
In June we asked you to send in ideas for our Observation Area. Thanks to all of those who submitted comments, we have received lots of great ideas. We have made a shortlist and encourage you to vote for your favorite.
YVR’s Observation Area turns two years old in July 2011, so we think it’s time for a little refreshment. This popular space for viewing airfield activity is used every day by employees, travellers, aviation enthusiasts and community groups.
