Want to see how YVR prepares for a blustery day like today? Check out this snow operations video that Live@YVR’s Jaeger Mah made last year while he was living at the airport.
Today we dug into the video vault and found one of our favourite videos from Live@YVR. It’s been a year since Live@YVR’s Jaeger Mah interviewed June, a YVR employee who works at Starbucks in the Domestic Terminal. We thought it was high time to share this cheerful video for a Friday “laughternoon” break.
On any given day, especially the sunny ones, you’ll find enthusiastic and knowledgeable people at YVR with their eyes and cameras focused on the skies. Whether you’re looking for something to do with the kids or want to frame a photo of a 777, plane spotting at YVR makes for a fun, educational activity.
Just two years ago today, YVR faced its busiest day in history as Olympic Games athletes and spectators headed home en-mass following the Closing Ceremonies. Today, we’re sharing our knowledge with London Heathrow, host of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, as it prepares for its own gold-medal airport performance.
Because the Lower Mainland only gets a few days of snow a year, chances are you haven’t invested in a snow blower for your house. But when you need one – you really need and want one.
It’s hard to believe that just 80 days ago we welcomed Port Alberni native Jaeger Mah as the special Live@YVR live-in storyteller.
Hey, everyone! Wyanne here. We’ve had an exciting month with YVR School Program. We’ve mastered our script and have really come into our own. The kids have been great and every tour is filled with new surprises.
There were spooky sights all over the Lower Mainland yesterday and YVR was no exception. We hosted our annual Halloween Pumpkin Carving and Costume Contest, inviting both the public and airport community to participate in the events. We called for spooktacular and that’s exactly what we got.
YVR’s School Tour program is now in full swing. Each week, approximately 270 Grade 5 students from across Metro Vancouver come for a tour of the public areas of the airport. Guided by Annalisa, Marcus and Wyanne the students experience the excitement of YVR, what they need to do when taking a flight, security requirements, airport sustainability practices and the NATO phonetic alphabet!
Today is Day 48 for Jaeger Mah, the affable Port Alberni native who moved into the airport earlier this as part of our Live@YVR contest contest.
