With its aerodynamic design and the latest sound-absorbing technology, we think that the Ground Run-up Enclosure (GRE) is a cool and important addition to our airport. And now thanks to The Daily Planet show on The Discovery Channel, millions of Canadian viewers are able to get an up-close and personal tour of the GRE like never before.
Last April we broke ground on YVR’s south side and began construction on Canada’s first Ground Run-Up Enclosure (GRE). Today we are proud to officially open the facility.
Head over to YVR’s outdoor viewing platform next to our South Terminal Building to watch the incredible Ground Run-up Enclosure (GRE) come to life. Built with lots of steel and concrete, the framework is going up quickly.
YVR has been working on something pretty cool; in fact, it’s the first of its kind in Canada: a state-of-the-art Ground Run-up Enclosure (GRE) that will reduce aircraft noise in the community.
