The YVR Flight Crew was out in full force again this past weekend at Holland Park in Surrey for the Fusion Festival. This year, YVR proudly sponsored the Cultural Pavilions which showcased participating countries like Ecuador, Italy and Ghana, just to name a few.
The free festival had over 75,000 people come through to enjoy the festivities and it was a great opportunity for the YVR ambassadors to engage with the community. While it may have rained, much like real-life airport operations, it did not stop our Flight Crew from showing festival-goers a great time. We had our popular YVR Fly Wheel and airport model out to educate participants about the airport and all the fun things we do -- we may have had some dance parties too :)
Families from across the Lower Mainland came to experience turban wrapping, henna tattoos, music and tons of food samplings from all over the world. Some highlights of the festival include experiencing a traditional aboriginal Pow Wow, watching Wally Buono, (General Manager of the BC Lions) on the Celebrity Cooking Stage and watching the Re-enactors recreate the lives and true stories of Surrey pioneers.
If you missed out on this festival, don’t worry! Next up, the YVR Flight Crew will be heading to ShoreFEST and the Celebration of Light. Find us there for some fun prizes!
