More than a hundred golfers teed off recently at the Quilchena Golf and Country Club for YVR for Kids annual golf tournament. The festivities continued late into the evening at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport for the annual YVR for Kids gala dinner and auction. Proudly sponsored by YVR, this annual golf tournament, gala dinner and auction brings together the greater airport community to raise funds for local children’s charities.
The event highlights include a golf tournament at the beautifully maintained Quilchena Golf and Country Club in Richmond, live entertainment throughout the evening, highly sought after auction items and the appearance of honourary patron, B.C.-born Pamela Anderson (pictured above with YVR President & CEO Craig Richmond). Over the past two decades, this event has raised over $3.2 million for children’s charities in the Lower Mainland.
Since the annual fundraiser’s inception 22-years ago, YVR for Kids has united Vancouver Airport Authority, government agencies, contractors and business partners that operate at Vancouver International Airport in a common goal – raising funds to support children’s charities including Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, Air Canada Dreams Take Flight, Hope Air and The Richmond Christmas Fund.
