With the warm air and lush green vegetation of spring now arrived, it’s the ideal time to explore the wonders of Sea Island on two wheels. Home to one of the world’s largest salmon runs and an estuary providing a major staging area for migratory birds, the environment surrounding YVR has countless opportunities for exploration. Test out your legs and cycle out to Iona Beach Regional Park or McDonald Beach Park (and bring your pooch!). The sights and sounds of aircraft taking off and landing nearby makes for a pretty unique cycling experience (at least we think so).
To get started, explore our one-of-a-kind Island home on the marked cycling lanes adjacent to Ferguson Road, just north of the airport, and access the two parks through the cycling network detailed here.
After your visit, complete this online survey and help us ensure the future cycling routes and infrastructure improvements on Sea Island reflect your needs. Share the link with any cycling enthusiast or those dedicated colleagues who cycle on, to or from Sea Island. Help us strengthen cycling on Sea Island. The online survey is available until June 30.
