Photo of the Month: Yukon River - Canada from the Air

Every month we pick one of the many  incredible entries to our Canada from the Air

photo project and feature it as our Photo of the Month. For November we selected this great shot from Colin Wu, who snapped this amazing picture you see above while visiting the Yukon territory. In the foreground is the Yukon River, snaking through the landscape, and in the background is the capital, Whitehorse.

The Yukon River's source is British Columbia, and a portion also lies in Alaska. Yukon actually means "great river" in Gwich'in and was used as a major transportation waterway during the Klondike Gold Rush.

Thanks for submitting, Colin!

Anybody who wants to submit to Canada from the Air can email entries to canadafromtheair@yvr.ca or tweet them to @yvrairport and include the hashtag #YVRCanada and where the photo was taken. Check out October's Photo of the Month below and next time you're flying snap one of your own and we might just put it up on the wall where thousands will see it!
