If you’re a Vancouver local, the word Terimayo immediately sparks excitement and a few hunger pangs. That’s because Terimayo is the signature hotdog by Japadog, a popular Vancouver food cart.
YVR is excited to announce that Japadog has opened a food cart at the airport. Located in Chester Johnson Park, next to the Canada Line Station, Japadog will be serving up delicious hotdogs from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. until September.
If you’re not from Vancouver or unfamiliar with Japadog, you may be wondering how a hotdog stand could be so popular? That’s because, in addition to your regular hotdog, Japadog serves up Japanese-inspired hotdogs.
The Terimayo is a beef hotdog with Teriyaki sauce, mayo and seaweed. Also on the menu are the Negimiso, a turkey sausage with miso sauce and shredded cabbage; the Oroshi, a bratwurst loaded with fresh daikon (Japanese radish) and special soy sauce; and the Okonomi, a juicy Kurobuta (pork) sausage topped with bonito (fish) flakes.
If your mouth is already watering, but you’re concerned your travelling buddy might be overwhelmed, the cart also offers traditional hotdogs, bratwursts and smokies, as well as several vegetarian options.
Hungry yet? Chester Johnson Park is located across from the International Arrivals Terminal, Level 2. Currently the cart is only accepting cash, however it hopes to be up and running with a debit machine in the near future.
