Nearly 400 active volunteers, speaking a total of 35 languages volunteered 69,471 hours last year at Vancouver International Airport. Those are impressive numbers…but the people behind the numbers are what makes YVR such a friendly place.
If you’ve been to the airport lately, you’ve likely been welcomed by one of our volunteer ambassadors, immediately recognizable in their distinctive green jackets or vests, and, of course, by their warm smiles.
If you have a question, they have an answer. They've gone out of their way to help reunite passengers, give directions to those in a hurry, help weary travellers or just provide a smile and a story or two. They are one of the reasons that YVR was voted Best Airport in North America this year by Skytrax.
For 22 years, the program has been making it easier for passengers and visitors to find their way through YVR, and we’d like to commend these dedicated volunteers for the great work they do every day.
