Fun Fact Friday: 114,000 Litres of Water in YVR Aquarium

Located in International Departures, the main aquarium at YVR is monitored and maintained by our friends at Vancouver Aquarium and has more than 114,000 litres of water that houses a rich variety of British Columbia marine life.

To get an idea of just how much water that is: 114,000 L would be enough to freeze and make almost 14 NHL ice surfaces at regulation thickness.

The tank has more than 5,000 creatures and features wolf eels, rock fish, striped perch and a bunch more.

For a more in-depth look at the aquarium life, this YVR aquarium facts document has loads of information.

There is also an additional aquarium on Level 4 that can be viewed when arriving internationally that houses 12 jellyfish.
