Full confession: this month’s edition is less column and more placeholder for some great stories that will follow in a special edition of YVR Air Mail next week.
Between attending Routes 2013 – the world’s largest route development forum held in Las Vegas earlier this month – and heading to Nassau Airport’s terminal opening, as a guest of our associate company (and my former employer) Vantage Airport Group later this week, I have been busy preparing my first big presentation since joining YVR back in July. On Wednesday, October 23, I will present YVR: Connections That Work at a luncheon hosted by the Vancouver Board of Trade. More details and ticket information is available on the Board of Trade’s website.
Rather than walk through a series of data-stuffed slides, I’m planning to tell some stories that help illustrate why YVR matters to British Columbia. In planning this presentation, we got to know some of the people and products that rely on the connections offered by YVR. I think these stories will resonate - and do a better job of explaining how YVR creates jobs, helps local businesses grow and connects B.C. to the global economy than a pie chart ever could.
If you’re not able to join me in person, please stop by the CEO Central page on our website to watch the address live. Next week’s special edition of YVR Air Mail will also include a video recap and profiles of the personalities who star in the presentation.
Until then, travel safely.
