Craig's Corner: Blueprint for the Future

On October 29, I will deliver my third annual address to the Vancouver Board of Trade, a tradition established by YVR’s former CEOs David Emerson and Larry Berg.

On October 29, I will deliver my third annual address to the Vancouver Board of Trade, a tradition established by YVR’s former CEOs David Emerson and Larry Berg.

This presentation is a great opportunity for YVR and the community to share ideas on how we can work together to build the airport of the future. It’s about what YVR does today and will do tomorrow, next year, next decade, in 2057 and beyond.

I get up on stage every year to share our vision of the future. And this year’s theme—“YVR’s Blueprint for the Future”—will take this further, showing how we’re going to continue bringing social and economic benefits to our communities.

So what am I going to talk about? Without giving anything away, I can tell you that I’ll present a year in review that’s sure to entertain. I’ll also take you through a crash-course on YVR history. This will be followed by a look at our current planning efforts through YVR’s master plan. And then I’ll show our vision for the future, which includes strong steps that will help us compete in an increasingly competitive world.

Topics will range from the growth of the terminal to addressing ground transportation and our commitment to sustainability. I’ll also touch on the importance of visa-free initiatives and how YVR is working with businesses, government and communities to identify opportunities for growth.

Like previous years, this presentation is about how we will continue to connect BC proudly to the world. We’re committed to delivering an exceptional airport experience and invite you to discuss this experience with us.

For those who are not attending in person, I invite you to watch the live stream of the event, which will be available at yvr.ca/CEO starting at about 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.

See you soon, and stay safe.
