Longtime YVR airline partners Cathay Pacific will add three additional flights between Vancouver and Hong Kong in April 2017, using the new state-of-the-art Airbus 350-900 aircraft. These added flights will bring Cathay Pacific’s frequency up to 17 non-stop flights a week, more than any other airline.
Cathay Pacific will operate a brand new Airbus 350-900 on the route between YVR and Hong Kong International Airport. This marks the first scheduled service by an A350-900 to anywhere in Canada. The aircraft features a refreshed Business Class cabin and new Premium Economy and Economy Class seats. The design of the cabin features has been carefully considered to give passengers the best sleeping experience and entertainment options, and to offer them greater control over how to use the space, whether for working or to relax.
Cathay Pacific is one of YVR’s earliest partners based in Asia Pacific with service launching in 1983 with two weekly flights. The airline is an industry leader that provides travellers with exceptional customer service, an unparalleled route network, superior in-flight hospitality and continual improvements to seat and cabin comfort to provide a better all-round flying experience.
YVR’s new five-year airline rates and charges program, ConnectYVR, lowered airline landing and terminal fees by 15 per cent which are now the lowest of any competing airport in Canada and the U.S. This program is designed to incent growth and efficiency for both new and existing airline partners by offering reduced rates for increased growth. This approach to airline growth will help to secure YVR’s position as a world-class connecting hub between Asia and the Americas.
