Social
The Social Report looks at the performance and results of the Airport Authority's employee programs such as career development, health and safety and employment equity. The Social section also details results of our community engagement programs.
To strengthen the Airport Authority’s role as a socially involved and responsible organization, we invest in causes that are meaningful to our neighbours, employees and partners. Last year we provided $675,000 to 69 not-for-profit organizations.
The Airport Authority’s team of 402 employees is committed to the successful operation of YVR. We aim to create a workplace that offers fulfilling jobs and development opportunities, encourages feedback and recognizes outstanding contributions.
One of the ways we measure health and safety performance is by tracking any injuries that occurred on the job that resulted in an employee missing work. There were five lost-time injuries in 2012.
As part of our public consultation activities, each year we undertake a community survey, conducted and compiled by an external consultant. The survey explores overall impressions of the Airport Authority and the impact YVR has on the community.
We are committed to open, timely and informative conversations with you - our stakeholders. From media relations to our website and social media tools like Twitter and Facebook, we want to keep you informed about what's happening at your airport.
