Noise Management Plan

The Noise Management Plan is an integral part of advancing the goals and objectives of the Airport Authority. A new Plan is created every five years and contains initiatives and key focus areas to further manage noise from aircraft operations.

The current five-year Noise Management Plan (2014-2018) ends this year. As such, we are undertaking work to create the next plan for YVR, which will serve to identify key areas of work and help guide noise management efforts over the next five years. This work will culminate with the delivery of a draft plan to Transport Canada at the end of the year.

We have worked closely with members of the YVR Aeronautical Noise Management Committee to create the new plan. Membership on this committee includes citizen and City staff representatives, Musqueam, airlines, industry associations, NAV CANADA, Transport Canada and Vancouver Airport Authority. While this committee will be the focal point for most of the work, we invite the community to learn more about our Noise Management Program. We appreciate the feedback we received through the online survey.
