YVR Friday Fun Fact: 17 Million Passengers a year travel through YVR, or 0.0025 percent of the Population of Earth

We see a lot of people here at Vancouver International Airport. How many? Well, YVR is the second-busiest airport in Canada and our numbers have been steadily growing for the past 20 years. Since 1992 the number of passengers that travel through the airport has almost doubled from around 9 million annually to 17.5 million in 2012.

That's millions more than the entire population of Ontario (13.5 million)!

But there's always opportunity to grow, and there are billions of people out there who have never set foot in our fair terminal. To put that number in perspective, the amount of people who use Vancouver International Airport every year is equivalent to 0.0025 percent of the entire population of Earth. That sounds like a lot, and it is, but when you look at this handy donut chart (far superior to pie charts) you can visualize the amount of people on this giant planet and how it relates to those who flew through the terminal last year.

So come visit, and we can take a bite out of that donut!
