Red Letter Day at YVR as Air Canada Rouge Announces Expansion to Western Canada

It's already been a year of many important firsts at YVR. We welcomed our first Boeing 787 Dreamliner, operated by Japan Airlines on February 3.  Two weeks later, China Southern followed with its Dreamliner operating daily to and from Guangzhou. Another first will land this coming Sunday, when ANA inaugurates its new route between YVR and Haneda airport in Tokyo. And earlier today, our partners at Air Canada made another exciting announcement: its Rouge service will make its way to Western Canada this year, including a number of routes in and out of YVR.

You can read the complete press release here.

More capacity on flights to and from Phoenix, San Francisco, Anchorage, Las Vegas and Los Angeles means more travel options for you, so get out your calendar and start planning your next short-haul flight to a fun sun destination. It’s great to see Air Canada grow its presence at YVR. Stay tuned to our blog and social channels for more on these new services.

    Pretty disappointing news !

I used to give Air Canada pretty much all my business to SFO and LAX because they operated the Embraer E-190 on that route - A very comfortable aircraft with great legroom.  (The wallpaper on my phone is a shot out an E90's window as I headed up the west coast!).  With the route moving to knee-crushing Rouge 319s, I'll take my business elsewhere.

Luckily, YVR has lots of options to LAX and SFO on other carriers!
