Every month, we pick one of the many incredible entries to our Canada from the Air photo project and feature it as our Photo of the Month. May's selection is a great shot of the prairies submitted via email by from Donald Hunter.
The photo is taken flying over farmland in Saskatchewan during the spring thaw, making this one rather timely. What were once thick layers of ice can be seen melting away to reveal fertile soil beneath and the prospect of spring growth. This particular image caught my eye thanks to its interesting texture, which looks like it could have been hand-painted when seen from thousands of feet in the air.
