For a second year, the YVR community came together in support of Quest Food Exchange, donating 260 complete holiday hampers to help families in need across Metro Vancouver enjoy a holiday meal.
Vancouver Airport Authority staff, Green Coat Volunteers, YVR businesses and the Sea Island community shared the common goal of helping give back to our community during the holiday season. The hamper drive took place from November 15-29, and we presented Quest Food Exchange with the completed hampers on Friday November 30. In addition, sponsorship dollars for YVR’s Christmas Tree Decorating Contest will fund turkeys for each of the hampers.
In 2011, Vancouver Airport Authority partnered with Quest Food Exchange as its official transportation sponsor to help reduce hunger with dignity while reducing airport waste. Operating three low-cost grocery stores, Quest offers food to nearly 400 social service agencies and their clients for a fraction of the retail cost.
