Street Banner Contest Takes Flight

For many visitors, YVR provides the first and last impression of B.C. with art and architecture that reflect the province’s diverse landscape and people. The Airport Authority and YVR Art Foundation will continue to build upon that tradition with this month’s launch of Exploring Flight, a street banner contest.

First Nations artists from across the province are invited to create and submit an original piece of their art that celebrates the theme of flight. The selected artist will have their design printed on curbside banners measuring 32” by 80”, to be hung at YVR later this year.  The artist will also win $500, and the opportunity to display their talents to an incredible audience: the millions of passengers and visitors to YVR every year.

Contest details, including the application form, rules and regulations and technical specifications are available in the Art & Architecture section of our website.
