Summer Fun for All YVR

Are you looking for something free and fun for your family to do this summer? Or are you travelling out of the airport in the coming months?

YVR is transforming itself into one of the Lower Mainland’s top summer destinations with the return of Take-off Fridays. This eight-week celebration features fun for the whole family, every Friday, all summer long.

Take-off Fridays features a full day of rockin’ beats, delicious treats and spectacular entertainment that will have travellers and stay-cationers alike eager to get to the airport.

Get in on the action with live DJs and tons of free entertainment, including local musicians and artists, acrobats, a caricaturist, a balloonist and face painters. Visitors will enjoy everything from free product sampling and $10 lunch specials to fun contests, spa treatments and the return of the popular airside demonstration where emergency response vehicles show off their firefighting capabilities. Take-off Fridays celebrations take place on Departures Level 3 in all terminal buildings – before and after security.

The festivities continue in YVR’s Public Observation Area, where kids and adults alike can explore interactive displays, check out airfield action up close with telescopes, discover Sea Island through an interactive model and learn interesting facts about YVR and all things aviation-related.

Information about each Take-off Fridays’ lineup will be posted on www.yvr.ca so be sure to check back weekly for the latest schedule. And don’t forget to enter to win prizes featuring an ultimate behind-the-scenes tour of YVR for a family of four, accommodation at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport, plus weekly prize draws.
