Vancouver Airport Authority has been recognized for its innovative use of traditional and social media tools as part of communications outreach.
Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA) announced June 6 that the Airport Authority received the Peggy G. Hereford Overall Award for Excellence in communications. The award is the highest honour an airport can earn in the marketing and communications field, recognizing creativity in communicating the airport’s message, and effectiveness in connecting with audiences.
YVR received six overall awards, placing first in two categories, including:
1st Place: Crisis Management
1st Place: Video & Film Productions
2nd Place: Public Relations Campaigns
2nd Place: Special Events
2nd Place: Websites
3rd Place: Social Media Campaigns
The Airport Authority was also recognized by the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS), which awarded it with Silver awards in the Canadian Media Relations Campaign of the Year and Best Electronic and Social Media Projects categories as part of a national conference in Victoria, June 10-12.
CPRS’s National Awards of Excellence recognize outstanding public relations programs and projects from across the country.
