The bright winter sun turned out along with 35 Vancouver Airport Authority employees, Green Coat Volunteers and their families to walk in the 8th annual Rogers Santa Claus Parade on Sunday, December 4.
The iconic holiday parade, attended by more than 400,000 people, hosted Santa Claus and his sleigh throughout downtown Vancouver on West Georgia and Burrard Streets. The Rogers Santa Claus Parade is one of the largest holiday events that raises money and collects donations for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. Vancouver Airport Authority has supported the event since its inception.
YVR’s parade entry included three of our hybrid vehicles with parade walkers dressed in green jackets drawing applause from the crowds. To celebrate YVR’s 80th anniversary this year, parade participants handed out YVR pilot hats and tattoos to the crowd.
If you were unable to attend the live performance, mark your calendars to watch CityTV on Saturday, December 10 at 6 p.m. and Sunday, December 11 at 4:30 p.m. when the parade will be broadcast in its entirety.
