"Team YVR" Makes an Impression on the World Police & Fire Games
Members of the airport's own Airside Emergency Services team joined more than 10,000 police officers, firefighters, customs and corrections officers from around the world competing in the World Police and Fire Games (WPFG).
YVR has a new tool in its fight against Foreign Object Debris (FOD) with the addition of a high resolution night and day camera to help spot potentially dangerous objects on the runway, in all weather and light conditions.
The airport community is committed to delivering the best possible customer experience at YVR 365 days each year, but on one day every August they take that "drive" and hit the links for a friendly game of golf to raise money for some very special children.
This American-built fighter, a speedy and versatile aircraft, was originally produced for the British Royal Air Force in WWII and later became a favourite of post-war high performance racers and the inspiration for an another American icon, the Ford Mustang.
